How we work

Who writes this, and how we check it.

You may be reading this at one of the worst moments of your life. You should know who is behind what you read, what it is based on, and where its limits are.

Who writes it

Infidelity Meter is run and written by Lebwerte, a non-profit association (Verein) based in Switzerland (lebwerte.com). Lebwerte writes the questions, the scoring and every text of the LITE and PRO results, and is responsible for them.

We use AI writing tools to help draft and translate. A person at Lebwerte reads, checks and approves every text before it is published, and Lebwerte remains responsible for it.

The meter software is licensed from the company that also sells MyFullReport PRO (named on its own site, before you pay). The company doesn't write, edit or approve our content, and it never sees anyone's answers or results. Lebwerte receives no payment from MyFullReport PRO. (The details are in privacy.)

Professional review

Not yet done

The method and the texts have not yet been reviewed by an independent clinician. We are looking for a qualified couples therapist or clinical psychologist with experience in affair recovery to review the method, the result texts and the safety step.

When that review is done, we will name the reviewer here, with their qualifications and the date, and mark each reviewed page. Until then, no page on this site claims to be reviewed by a professional. If you are a clinician and would like to review it, write to hello@infidelitymeter.com.

What it's based on

The structure of the meter draws on ideas that recur across the clinical literature on affair recovery, listed with what we took from each on Sources. The weights, the twelve areas and the thresholds are our own reasoned choices, not fitted to outcome data. The methodology shows every formula the site actually uses.

What we hold ourselves to

  • Safety first. If any sign of control or danger is ticked, the result leads with safety information and no PRO result is offered.
  • No help with spying. We explain why on the suspicion page.
  • No invented people. No made-up testimonials, reviews, quotes or experts. Examples on the site are labelled as illustrative.
  • Plain about limits. This is a structured self-check, not a diagnosis and not a validated scale.
  • Money doesn't write the content. The LITE result is free and stands on its own. The PRO result adds detail; it doesn't hold back anything you need to be safe.
  • Written for everyone involved. For the partner who was hurt and the partner who cheated, of any gender, in any kind of relationship.

How we keep it accurate

  • Before a text goes live, we check its facts against the sources and its numbers against the code that calculates the result.
  • We check every helpline on Help now every six months.
  • We review the whole site at least once a year. Each page shows when it was last updated.

Changes

  • Softened three claims that had no specific source (home page and methodology). Clarified the Gottman source. Removed an unfinished address line from privacy.
  • Added Help now, this page and Sources. Labelled the examples on the home page as illustrative. Added review status to the methodology.
  • Infidelity Meter published, with the LITE and PRO results.
